A Beloved Suburban Spot for Spice Curry
– A Relaxing Moment with a Touch of Spice

spicepice
Owner: Ms. Yuko Morikawa

We had the pleasure of speaking with Ms. Yuko Morikawa, the owner of spicepice, a renowned spice curry restaurant located in the suburbs.

Natsuno: Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with us. Could you start by telling us a little about your restaurant?
Owner: spicepice is a small curry restaurant nestled beside a glass studio at the foot of Mt. Makio. We’ve just entered our fourth year in May. Our weekend-only restaurant is supported by many guests from the local Izumi City area and even from other prefectures.

Natsuno: What is the concept behind your restaurant and what do you value in your cooking?
Owner: Since we’re located in a quiet suburban area, I want our guests—who take the time to come here—to feel relaxed in a peaceful environment. Though the space is not large, I try to create a setting where guests can truly unwind.

As for the food, while many associate curry with salad, we take a different approach. We incorporate a variety of vegetables, seasoned with spices, to offer a dish that’s enjoyable down to the last bite. Our goal is to bring out the rich aroma of spices and the natural flavors of the vegetables to create a satisfying experience.

Natsuno: How did you first come across Ginza Natsuno?
Owner: I was looking for ebony chopsticks and browsed through several specialty chopstick websites, but couldn’t find anything I liked. Honestly, I was about to give up. Then, I happened to find Ginza Natsuno’s website. The design and texture were exactly what I was looking for—it was love at first sight.

Natsuno: What made you decide on the particular chopsticks you’re using now?
Owner: I wanted something made of ebony with a fine tip. The pair I found on your website had a simple design and matched all my criteria. The reasonable price point was another deciding factor.

Natsuno: How has your experience been using them?
Owner: The design, texture, and balance are all outstanding. I was especially impressed by the delicate tips. They’re perfect for precise tasks and have been very helpful both in cooking and plating.

Natsuno: What kind of feedback have you received from your customers about the chopsticks?
Owner: Many customers comment on how easy they are to use—for picking up, breaking apart, or even cutting food. Others mention how beautiful the material and design are. Since our guests also use chopsticks for side dishes, not just curry, the quality of the tools really matters.

Natsuno: We’re delighted to hear that both you and your customers are satisfied! Is there anything you’d like to see from Ginza Natsuno in the future?
Owner: I love these chopsticks so much that I get a little anxious when they go out of stock… I’d really appreciate it if they could continue to be restocked regularly.

Natsuno: Thank you again for taking the time to speak with us. At Ginza Natsuno, we will continue to support restaurants like yours—places that truly care about their tools—as we share the joy of “using” quality chopsticks.
